“才”“性”之辨——程颐人性思想新论

Talent and Nature——On Cheng Yi's Human Nature Theory

程颐的人性学说所包含的内容十分丰富,所讨论的主要问题有:性与理的关系、心性情、已发未发等等,其中,"性"与"才"的关系问题是其人性学说的一个重要方面。之前的研究认为在程颐的人性学说中,"生之谓性"就是"才",而断定其人性论是性二元论。其实在程颐的人性理论中,"生之谓性"只不过是"性"的一个侧面,其与"才"之间存在巨大的差别,因此,程颐的哲学只能称为是性一元论或性气二元论。

Cheng Yi＇s human nature theory contains rich contents. The main issues discussed in it are the relationship between nature and principle, mind and nature as well as passion and so on. The relationship between nature and talent is an important aspect of it. According to the previous researches, ＂inborn is what means nature＂ is talent, and his theory is dualistic theory of human nature. In fact, ＂inborn is what means nature＂ is only one aspect of nature, and there is great difference between talent and it. Therefore, Cheng Yi＇s philosophy can only be monism of nature or dualism of disposition.
