Based on entry collection,sense ordering,phonetic notation,treatment of homographs and homonyms,the use of prompting words and the defining of head words,this paper introduces the updating of Modern Chinese Dictionary and the normative principles and scholarly ideas behind Modern Chinese Dictionary (6th Edition).
