摘要
许多研究者探究过新手英语教师作为外语或二语教师的身份,但是少有人研究过将英语作为外语授课的教师的身份发展。本研究利用社会建构理论来分析塑造新手英语的外语教师身份的因素,笔者对一位新手英语教师凯做了访谈,调查他对教学的看法、从学期始到学期末的教学经历和他与学生、同事的故事。研究发现,教师信念、学生、课堂实践和环境等因素都会影响新手英语教师的身份发展,在四个因素中,环境和教师信念最为重要。
Many researchers have studied novice EFL or ESL teacher's identity, but few have studied EFL teacher's identity development. This study drew on the theory of social constructivism to analyze the factors that may shape novice EFL teacher's identity. To this end, I had an interview with a novice EFL teacher Henry about his thoughts on teaching, his teaching experience from the beginning to the end of the semester, and his story with students and colleagues. Findings show that the factors like teacher's beliefs, students, classroom practice, and the context all influence the teacher's identity development, and of the four factors the context and teacher's beliefs are more significant.
