Impact of The True Meaning of the Lord of Heaven on the Development of Korea’s Practical Learning

《天主实义》是利玛窦著述的宣传天主教教理的著作,同时也是首次被介绍到朝鲜的汉译西书。该书传入朝鲜后,书中关于对宋明理学的批判、灵魂不灭、众生平等观、知与行理论,以及西方的风俗、哲学原理等吸引了一批进步儒生,并深深地影响了他们的思想观念,使他们渐渐地脱离了传统性理学,进而影响了朝鲜实学的形成和发展。

The True Meaning of the Lord of Heaven is Mathieu Ricc’s work that promoted the Catechism of the Catholic Church,and the first western book translated into Chinese and introduced to Korea.Since the introduction of the book to Korea,the criticism of Neo-Confucianism,the concepts of the immortality of the soul and all the living things are equality,the knowledge-practice unity theory,the western customs and philosophy principles had appealed to a group of progressive Confucian scholars,deeply influenced and gradually helped them get rid of traditional Confucianism,impacting on origin and development of Korea’s practical learning.
