Through taking the seismic accrediting and reinforcement on a middle school teaching building in Changde city, and combining the present seismic appraisal standards, it were expound that the basic process of seismic appraisal and the concrete method of seismic reinforcement. And a seismic evaluation method was concluded for such type of building. The existing structural defects were found and a series of effective and economical strengthening measures were used.
