Paul Valery and the Construction of Liang Zongdai's Poetic Theory

作为中国现代有影响的学者和批评家,梁宗岱的艺术思维世界是相当宏阔和开放的,他的诗学理论在很大程度上受到了法国著名诗人瓦雷里的影响。梁作为瓦雷里的崇拜者对其象征主义理论进行了全面、系统的阐释,极大拓展了批评视野和现代性意识,为中国文学理论由传统到现代,从本土到世界的转换提供了科学参照。但另一方面,梁宗岱在接受瓦雷里的过程中又结合中国文化的历史和现实因素进行了必要的过滤和改造,凸显了高度的理论自觉意识,从而形成了自己富有个性的理论体系。

As an influential scholar and critic in modem China, Liang Zongdai＇s artistic thinking world is rather wide and open, his poetic theory is greatly influenced by Paul Valery, a famous French poet of late symbolism. As an admirer of Paul Valery＇s, Liang Zongdai makes a comprehensive and systematic explanation to his symbolic theory, broadens critical vision and the consciousness of modernity and provides a scientific reference to the transition of Chinese literal theory from the traditional to the modem and from the native to the world. However, on the other hand, while accepting Valery＇s theory,Liang Zongdai makes some necessary choices and changes by combining with Chinese literary history and realistic factors, thus features his self-awareness of theory and forms his own theoretic system.
