In the past 30 years, Eshan Yi People's drumming dance has undergone many changes on the form and content. It has developed into a popular entertainment culture and a cultural resource from a funeral dance. In this development process, its closed culture and religious content has been reduced with its open content and social culture increase. Local and national, minority culture and mainstream culture, great tradi- tion and little tradition, tradition culture and modem culture have been interacted with each other. This development is the culture integration and the cultural innovation process.
