摘要
菲茨杰拉尔德笔下栩栩如生的人物形象如实展示了一种爵士时代的社会风貌——物欲弥漫下的精神世界的贫瘠与信仰危机,而这种普遍的道德沦丧与精神贫乏有着时代无法逃脱的原因和责任,从而引发了人们的关注与思考:当人类拥有了财富与自由之后,他们还应追求什么?文章对《了不起的盖茨比》中人物进行了评析。
The lifelike characters by Fitzgerald display the true picture of Jazz Age： the crisis of belief and infertility of inner world. While the common morality undone and spiritual poverty is in great part related to the society and the time, thus drawing our attention and thinking： ＂ What should we human beings pursue after acquiring wealth and freedom？＂. This paper analy- ses the characters in The Great Gatsby.
