钱穆的科学观

Qian Mu's View of Science

钱穆的一生与中国饱受西方物质文明冲击的20世纪相始终,他的科学观可以看作是对20世纪20年代的"科玄论战"的进一步深化。在钱穆看来,"科学"主要是西方人把握世界的一种方式,它有自己的适用空间和适用方法,而与自然科学相对的人文科学也有着自己独特的研究对象,因此构建人文科学就不能以自然科学为绳律。钱穆的科学观有很多值得借鉴的地方,但也存在着理论困境。

Qian Mu was suffered from the impact of western material civilization on China in his whole life in the 20th century. To science, he had his own unique insights. In his view, ＂ science＂ was a way for westerners to grasp the world, which had its own applicable space and applicable methods, the humanities also had its own unique object of stud- y, and therefore it＇ s unreasonable to view the natural scientific methods as the standards of humanities. This paper agrees that we can learn a lot from Oian Mu＇s view of science, but there are also theoretical dilemma.
