从吴连胜《黄帝内经》英译看中医医古文翻译

Viewing English Translation of Ancient Medical Literature from Wu Liansheng's Version of Yellow Emperor's Canon of Internal Medicine

[目的]通过分析吴连胜对《黄帝内经》的英译,总结医古文语言特点及其翻译技巧。[方法]阅读近年来关于中医医古文翻译的相关文献及著作,系统整理各家学术观点,以吴连胜《黄帝内经》英译本为例,总结医古文语言特点及其翻译技巧。[结果]1.对中医术语,吴连胜多采用意译或音译加注解;2.翻译医古文语句须正确理解其白话文涵义;3.英译医古文,注重语句之间的显性衔接以形成语篇整体。[结论]医古文语言不同于现代科技语言,富含文化奥义,其英译须根据语言特点分析适应的翻译方法。

[Objective] To summarize the linguistic features of the ancient medical literature of traditional Chinese medicine and its translation skills by analyzing Wu Liansheng＇s version of Yellow Emperor＇s Canon of Internal Medicine.[Method] Reading the related documents and works of ancient medical literature in recent years and analyzing different academic viewpoints systematically.Taking Wu＇s version of Yellow Emperor＇s Canon of Internal Medicine as example to summarize the linguistic features of the ancient medical literature and its translation skills.[Result] 1.In Wu＇s version,terms are mostly translated by free translation and transliteration with annotation;2.To translate the ancient medical literature,it is important to understand the meaning of the original text correctly;3.Explicit cohesion is emphasized in the English translation of the ancient medical literature to form the integrated discourse.[Conclusion] The language of ancient medical literature is different from that of the modern science.Since it is rich in profound cultural meaning,its English translation should be based on the linguistic features.
