Zhou Cuanghong（1868-1941） had another name of ＂Mengchan＂ or ＂Mengquan＂.who was a native of Pujiang County.Zhejiang Province.Zhou Cuanghong was adept in bamboo wood carving, who was well known as ＂Master Hong＂.He was particularly fond of root carving.When he got tree roots and bamboo roots every time,he smoked cigarettes and gazed at these roots to probe into their natural forms.Suddenly he occurred to some insights and wielded his knives.He was the founder of Pujiang Bamboo Wood Carving according to the legend.His artworks were all regarded as scholar treasures by local villagers.He created thousands of artworks which spread to surrounding counties,Shanghai.Hangzhou and other cities.Zhou Cuanghong is recorded in Dictionary of Chinese Artists＇ Personal Names.
