试论粤剧翻译——以著名剧目《帝女花之香夭》为例

粤剧(曲)是广东国家级的非物质文化遗产之一,不但深受广东人喜爱,而且深受云、桂人民和港澳同胞以及海外华人的喜爱,是中国最先走向世界的剧种。因此,将粤剧翻译成英语有利于粤剧和中国文化在海外进一步传播。但目前已翻译成英语版本的粤剧数目稀少,而且翻译得并不十分到位,其原因是粤剧翻译存在几个难点。本文以著名粤剧《帝女花之香夭》试论述粤剧的翻译。

YUE Opera is one of the National Non-material Cultural Heritages in Guangdong province.Not only the Cantonese,but also people from Yunnan and Guangxi province,Hong Kong,Macao, as well as the overseas Chinese love YUE Opera very much,which makes YUE Opera the first kind of Chinese opera becomes popular around the world.Therefore,translating YUE Opera into English favors the further spreading of YUE Opera and Chinese culture overseas.But there is only a small number of YUE Opera are translated into English and the translation versions are not accurate enough because there are several difficulties in translating.This article attempts to discuss the translation of YUE Opera taking the famous Princess of Ming Dynasty：Death of the Princess as an example.
