As a remarkable scholar and educator of the first part of the 20th century,Fu Sinian has made pro- found explorations into the problems of Chinese literary history. With his open world vision and deep historical in- sight, he cast his eyes on the inheritance of the flesh and blood of the thoughts and cultures of the Chinese nations. His studies in the Chinese literary history are noted for his unique insights, systematic and academic argumenta- tion, and tolerance of all points of view. This paper provides an analysis of the content and methods, meaning and features, and accomplishments of Fu＇s research in classical literature.
