Academic dissertations of police colleges possess originality and academic value, which play a posi- tive role in promoting the police work and the academic level of teachers and researchers in police colleges. It is one of chief business for police college libraries to construct police academic dissertation database. This paper made an exploration on the current situation, characteristics and construction ideas in the process of establishing police aca- demic dissertation database, analyzed the confronting problems, and accordingly put forward some suggestions and countermeasures. 4 Refs.
