在国际黄金市场的运作中，商业银行发挥着极其重要的作用，黄金业务已成为一些商业行业务发展的重要组成部分。我国黄金市场开放在即，商业银行在其中将扮演何种角色？如何参考》如何抓住机遇？已引起了业内人士的广泛关注。为此，本刊特约请有关权威人士，撰写了下面专稿，发表他们的独到见解，奉献给广大读者。
Commercial banks play a very important role in operation of the international gold market. And gold business has become an important part in business development of commercial banks. Gold market in China will be opened up soon. How does the commercial bank take part in it﹖ The author believes that the range of gold business commercial banks will involve must be in conformity with the development of the gold market in China. And meanwhile the businesses that commercial banks will do can be classified into two types Normal commercial banking business and gold business. The gold business includes providing agential gold trade for gold producers and consumers gold loan planning and arranging forward selling or hedging coordinating with the central bank in controlling and interfering gold market to maintain a stable gold price to protect the domestic gold market against risk by operation in the world gold market and gold retail. In the last part this paper gives an example to explain the operation of a commercial bank in doing gold business.
