“数字地球”及其对中国的意义

Digtal earth and its role to China

“数字地球”概念的形成是一个长期的渐进过程 .“数字地球”是一个不仅包括地球信息科学 ,同时也涉及政治、经济、哲学、社会学等众多领域的开放的巨系统 .计算机技术、网络、通讯、RS、GIS、GPS等为“数字地球”提供了强有力的技术支撑 .“数字地球”在虚拟现实、预测全球变化、农业生产、教育等方面有着广阔的应用前景 .“数字地球”对于中国在下个世纪初实现可持续发展具有重大意义 ,现阶段中国应加强国家空间数据基础设施建设 ,尽快将“数字中国”计划提上日程 .全社会要高度关注“数字地球”的发展 .

The process of the forming of the concept of Digital Earth is a long and gradually one. Digital Earth is an opening giant system which not only consists of geomatics, but also involves domains like politics、 economy、 philosophy and sociology. Computer science、 network、 communication、 RS、 GIS and GPS have given Digital Earth with strong support. Digital Earth can be found its applications in almost every field, such as virtual reality、 forecasting globe changes、 farming、 education, and so on. Digital Earth will play an essential role in China′s sustainable development in the beginning of the 21st century. At present, China should enhance the construction of national spatial data infrastructure, and place the plan of Digital China on the order of the day. Every member of the society should pay much attention to the development of Digital Earth.
