On March 20,Suntech Power's main subsidiary,Wuxi Suntech Power,was declared bankrupt by local Wuxi court.The Wuxi Guolian Development Group has been appointed to take over operations. Meanwhile,although Suntech founder Shi Zhengrong has been 'fired' from his position as CEO and chairman of the board, he is still working hard to find a way to save himself.One thing is clear though,no matter what he may do,there is nothing he can do to alter the after effects of Suntech's bankruptcy woes. Problems in China are just one of his many worries,as problems overseas may be even harder to handle.American investors are suing Shi,claiming that he and other senior management transferred assets to Asia Silicon,Shi's private company;as well as used $1.68 billion of Suntech money to procure no-interest loans for this company. The American courts are currently investigating the accusations.Suntech's worries don't end with the bankruptcy and restricting, and it remains to be seen what the future of the company holds.
