Loosening the Restraints on Social Organizations

On March 10,Ma Kai,the State Councilor and Secretary General of the State Council,mentioned during the Two Sessions that the government is planning on loosening the conditions regarding the registration of social organizations and that priority will be given to the establishment of social organizations in the fields of commerce,science and technology,public welfare and charity,and rural-urban community services.According to the plan,these social organizations will no longer need to find an administrative body to oversee their activities before they register. This announcement lit a flame of hope in the hearts of those social organizations.However,this new policy move is not going to solve everything. The related government departments need to change their management philosophy and approach when it comes to dealing with these social organizations.
