According to metro design code,it is required to install floodgate or other flood proofing measures at appropriate position of both ends of water-crossing section.Due to lack of clear definition of river and lake, there are different understanding and implementation of this clause in many cities, which brings much confusion to the client and designer.Taken the floodgate of Chengdu rail transit as an example,it makes a discussion on correct understanding and implementation of the clause. Some suggestions are put forward, which can provide reference for rail transit engineering construction in other cities.
