王艮、王栋、王襞所写诗歌在宣传泰州学派思想方面发挥了极其重要的作用。但由于"三王"的生活环境、家教渊源、文学素养以及对诗歌作用的认识不同,其诗歌内容与诗歌风格也有差异。总体上看,王艮、王栋、王襞就诗歌创作水平来说,一个高于一个,而就诗歌创作理论而言,则各有千秋。王艮从轻重角度提出了先德行而后文艺的原则,王栋则从缓急角度强调了王艮的观点,两人都把诗歌的道德性与教育性视为诗歌创作的首要要求。王襞的不少诗虽然也进行了理论的揭示,但他的诗以抒发自己的理想信念和豪情壮志为主,因而在诗歌的内容与写作方法方面与王艮、王栋有着明显的区别。

Gen promote the principle of virtue first and then literary from the point of view of the severity, Wang Dong stressed Gen＇s view form the angle of priorities, so both of them regarded poetry moral and education as the primary requirement of poetry writing. Many poems of Wang Bi reveal theoretically, but his poetry mostly express his own ideals and beliefs, and lofty aspiration, and thus in the content and poetry writing ,his poets makes distinct difference with Wang Gen and Wang Dong,
