摘要
文章拟通过个案调查的方式研究英语学习者自我认同及其影响因素。问题包括(1)某外语类院校英语专业本科新生的自我认同现况如何,如主要类别和分布形态,(2)新生自我认同倾向与个人背景因素之间的关系,(3)对教学的启示。研究采用"自我认同倾向量表(AIQ-Ⅳ)",以"重要性"为测量向度,实施问卷调查。数据分析使用描述性统计、克—瓦氏检验和曼—惠特尼检验。结果表明(1)个人认同和关系认同是该新生群体自我认同最重要的倾向,其次是社会认同倾向和群体认同倾向,而关于表面认同的判断则显得犹疑、模糊,(2)个人背景因素中,外校/非外校经历对该新生群体的自我认同倾向影响最大,对该新生群体的自我认同,特别是个人认同倾向存在多方面的显著影响。
The study investigates(1) the self-identity dimensions and distribution pattern of a cohort of English-major freshmen in an English college;(2) the possible association between the pattern and the personal backgrounds and(3) the implications,if any,for teaching.A survey was administered with the translated and adapted version of AIQ-Ⅳ(The Aspects of Identity Questionnaire-Ⅳ) and the focus of examination was the relative importance of each dimension to the students’ awareness of their self-identity.Data analyses include descriptive statistics,Kruskal-Wallis test and Mann-Whitney test.The results suggest that for this group,personal identity and relational identity are the most important identity orientations followed by their social identity and collective identity,and that whether or not they are from a foreign language middle school is the most significant factor related to their self-identity,particularly in their personal identity.
