In this article,circumstance of reform of computerized supervisory and control system of Taipingwan hydropower plant performed based on industrial application server 2.1（IAS 2.1） is introduced in brief.stressed items are mentioned as follow： analysis is made on environment and condition of Taipingwan hydropower plant;aanalysis is made on applied status and technical status of current computerized supervisory and control system;analysis is made on requirement on technology to industrial automation software applied to supervisory and control system project of Taipingwan hydropower plant;feasibility of software IAS 2.1 to be acted as platform is demonstrated with main technical features it present.A typical instance is provided for application in computerized synthetical supervisory and control of hydropower plant,special explaining is given to main aspects such as system structure,configured component,design of net,the role played in IAS 2.1,design of data engine which operate in primary or standby mode,etc.,that is helpful to know technical characteristic of computerized supervisory and control system of hydropower plant.After all,summarizing and refining is made to actual effect and running status of application.
