Ethnic Conflict and the Development of Ethnic Politics——Evaluation and Analysis of David A Lake’s Streatise on Ethnic Conflict

世界范围内所谓非传统不安全因素如民族主义、分离主义和恐怖主义等,其背后往往渗透着族群矛盾和族群冲突的影子;探究族群在政治发展过程中所面临的问题和矛盾,分析族群内部、族群间冲突的起源,并进一步提出相应的管理模式是进入新世纪以来东西方学界共同关注的问题之一。美国加利福尼亚大学圣迭戈分校政治学院教授David A Lake与Donald Rothchild的论文Containing Fear:The Origins and Man-agement of Ethnic Conflict,通过对族群冲突起源的战略互动分析,得出了族群冲突产生的外部与内部的各种诱因,并在此基础上对管理族群冲突的几种模式进行了探讨。本文着重评析了该论文关于国家与族群战略互动及其困境、族群冲突管理等论点,并对其现实借鉴意义进行了思考。

There are many non-traditional unsafe factors in the current worldwide. Just like the nationalism, the separatism and the terrorism, and there are the shadow of contradiction of ethnic group and ethnic conflict behind them. Therefore, to analyze the origin of ethnic conflict within and between ethnic groups, and to propose the management model is one of the issues which the east and west academic focus in the new century. The paper Containing Fear： The Origins, and Management of Ethnic Conflict wrote by David A Lake and Donald Rothchild, who are the political science professor of University of California, San Diego, analyze the strategic interaction on the origins of ethnic conflict and come to the incentives lead to the ethnic conflict. On the basis, several models of ethnic conflict management were discussed. This article focuses on the comments of some arguments in the paper. Just as the strategic interaction of nation and ethnic groups and their dilemma, and ethnic conflict management. The author explores the thesis the reality reference of the solution of the nation problems in moment.
