Into the Wild tells a story of a tragedy in which, the young man Chris McCandless explores the wilderness in order to identify himself as a man and finally died in the wild nature. It reflects modern people＇s crisis of cultural identification and the desire for wilderness during the transition from modern to postmodern society, revea： ling the dualism between culture and the wilderness and discussing the possibility to transcend human value and go towards the wilderness ethics.
