摘要
作为我国著名古语言学家，历史学家，散文家，梵语文学翻译家，季羡林先生通晓12国语言，在文革期间开始翻译印度两大史诗之一《罗摩衍那》，历时10年，终于完成译作。其过程之艰辛坎坷，影响之巨大，为我国文学事业做出了不朽的贡献。但是季先生的翻译思想并没有得到应有的重视。本文将主要从三方面讨论季先生的翻译思想，并通过其最重要的译作《罗摩衍那》来体现其翻译思想。最后强调翻译的重要性。
As a famous Chinese linguist, historian, essayist and a translator of Sanskrit literature, Ji Xianlin is quite famil- iar with 12 languages. Mr. Ji began to translate one of the two great Indian epics Ramayana during the Cultural Revolution. Ten years later, he finally finished the translation. The process was rather difficult while the translation left profound influ- ence on the whole world, which made enduring contributions to Chinese literary career. However, Mr. Ji＇s translation thoughts have not been attached importance to. This paper discusses Mr. Ji ＇ s translation thoughts from three aspects and u- ses Ramayana to represent these thoughts. At last, the importance of translation is emphasized.
