周作人希腊神话研究对民族文化发展的思考

The Influence of Zhou Zuoren′s Studies of Greek Mythology on the Development of National Culture

周作人是中国新文化思想的重要启蒙者,其一生都保持着对希腊神话的关注与热爱,甚至在遗嘱中亦强调希腊神话是其文学创作中的唯一"胜业"。周作人极力主张借用古希腊神话的"美化"精神来改造中国的国民性,在对希腊神话的译介、神话理论的引入过程中形成了对于民族文化发展的重要思考,并且通过比较分析的方法将希腊文化中的宝贵精神展现在现代中国人的面前,在这种参照的意义层面上寻找重建中国新文化的有效途径。

Zhou Zuoren was an important torchbearer in the Chinese modem culture enlightenment. In his whole life, he maintained concern and love to the Greek mythology, and even in his last will he mentioned twice that Greek mythology was his only success in his literary creation. Zhou Zuoren urged to borrow the ＂beautification＂ and ＂secular＂ spirit from ancient Greece myth to transform the Chinese people. Through the comparative analysis of the Greek culture of the precious spiritual unfolded in front of the modem Chinese people, we seek significant paths to the reconstruction of Chinese New culture.
