The Last of the Mohicans is one of James Cooper＇ s most famous books in The Leatherstock- ing Tales. It depicts the brutal plundering of British and French colonists in America in the mid-eighteenth century. In the novel, the theme is the friendship between Hawkeye and his Mohicans friend Chingachgo- ok. But in the 1992 film version, it focuses on love between Hawkeye and Cora. So this adaptation from novel to movie reflects the changing of cultural background.
