The introduction of book purchasing bidding system to the university libraries has brought a seri- ous impact on the cataloging work. This article expounds the positive significance and disadvantageous factors of the public bidding in book purchasing. Based on the long-term working experience, the author presents some con- crete measures of ensuring the quality of the cataloging work under the environment of the book purchase bidding system.
