论高校校训的文化价值——兼析广东培正学院校训“培智 正德 尚行 立新”的文化内涵

On the Cultural Value of Motto for Higher Education Institutions——The Culture Connotation of the Motto Cultivating Intellectuality, Straightening Morality, Worshipping Deed, Renewing Innovation of Guangdong Peizheng College

校训，是一个学校一切理念的灵魂，它是一种观念文化，有极强的凝聚力量；它是一种人文要求，对师生的行为规范有指导意义；校训是价值目标，它可以转化为师生的内在价值尺度，并以此来自觉地衡量自己的行为；校训有引导作用，它使学校成员保持高昂的情绪和奋进精神。理解校训，弘扬校训，将发挥精神激励和感召的作用，利于培育出更多优秀的人才。本文以培正学院校训“培智、正德、尚行、立新”为例，阐述其文化内涵。

The motto of an institution, being the soul of among all concepts, is a kind of culture idea with strong cohesive force; it is a requirement of humanity guiding students and staff＇s conduct; it is a value goal which can be converted into the inherent value of students and staff so as to measure their own conducts; it can, as well, work as a torch to raise morale and progressive spirit. Interpretation and promotion of the motto can exert the effect of spiritual stimuli, and assist training more qualified talents. This paper aims to elaborate on the cultural connotation of the motto Cultivating Intellectuality, Straightening Morality, Worshipping Deed, Renew- ing Innovation of Guangdong Peizheng College.
