《柏勒罗丰》是约翰·巴斯的一部中篇小说,也是他重述古代神话的一部代表作。作者以一种元小说式的叙述方式,首先解构了人物的自我同一性,使之自我指涉、自我相关而形成一种张力,由此联结起古代与现代、神话世界与现实世界、英雄与普通人,从而进入到对历史书写与现代人危机的深刻反思,并在对英雄模式的质疑中实现了对神话想象和现实的双向超越。

Bellerophoniad is the masterpiece of John Barth, which re-tell the ancient myths. John Barth used the narrative mode of metafiction,deconstmcted the character identity to form a kind of tension between self-reference and self-relevance. This novel connected ancient world and modem world, mythological world and the real world, heroes and ordinary people.
