Adopting the perspective of western rhetoric, this paper starts the brief review by the history of western rhetoric from ancient Greek times to the contemporary era. The representatives and theoretical of each period are summarized. Due to illustration of the developing trend of Western rhetoric, it is necessary to discuss the present study of rhetoric and the Rhetoric hot topics. In this study, the specific content is the development status of western rhetoric, and its reflects in political speech.
