As a kind of new efficient light stabilizer, hindered amine light stabilizer （HALS） is widely employed to extend the applications of polymeric materials. Close attention has always been paid to its development both at home and abroad. In this paper, the research progress of HALS was summarized, its reaction mechanism was highlighted, and the promising prospect of this field was also blueprinted.
