As a famous Japanese writer, Murakami Haruki has been affecting the readers and literary critics of both the East and the West in a peculiar way, not only because of the unique content of his novel and his writ- ing styles, but also because Murakami has infused his distinctive personal thoughts on life, life and death into his works. The death aesthetics of Murakami's fiction, both based on the Japanese traditional culture of death and inspired by the western philosophy of existentialism, shows particular aesthetic characteristics.
