Ship＇s ballast water is crucial in keeping ship balance and ensuring safety voyage. But ship＇s ballast water may carry pathogen and non-indigenous species, which might be circulated worldwide by ship and therefore cause pollution. This paper describes the ballast water discharge on the marine environment, pollution, discusses various measures to deal with the problem of pollution and their advantages and disadvantages, and then makes some recommendations.
