Nantong, as the only coastal and riverside city of Jiangsu province, has unique geographical advantages in the aspects of traffic and plays an increasingly evident role in the national strategic transport hub. During the twelfth five-year plan, Nantong has established the strategic task in accelerating the construction of ＂one center, three cities＂. The article, demonstrates the function and influence of highway traffic environment for the construction of north wing economy center of Yangtze River Delta of Nantong, based on the analysis of highway traffic environment of Nantong. In addition, it proposes that carry out the function of road network is an efficient way to build the north wing economic center of Yangtze River Delta of Nantong.
