Cultural Awareness and Culture Teaching in Police English

随着经济全球化的发展,运用外语进行跨文化交际的能力成为衡量警务工作者的一个重要标准。语言与文化的关系决定了文化教学是警务英语教学的重要内容。根据文化自觉的理念,警务英语文化教学不仅仅是英语文化知识的学习。警务英语课程教师应树立文化自觉意识并在教学中培养学生养成文化自觉,充分深入了解祖国文化,自觉吸收西方先进文化,做到相互尊重、取长补短、寻求合作,使我们的警务工作者更好的发挥我国警务工作对国际警务的巨大作用。

With the development of economic globalization, intercultural communication of police with English has become important standard of judging policeman. The relation of language and culture decides that culture teaching is an important part of police English. Based on cultural awareness, culture teaching is not only the learn- ing of English cultural knowledge. In police English teaching, teachers should build the idea of cultural awareness and develop the same idea of the students＇ , understand our own culture deeply, absorb good essence of foreign culture, respect and learn from each other in order to play our great role in international policing.
