General structure of Real-time data monitoring system for water supply industry is introduced, application of on-line monitoring meter in overall monitoring system for water supply pipeline networks, data collection and transmission pattern, the requirement and standard of on-line meter layout are summarized. Taking Baoshan Water Supply Management Station for example, after effective management and daily maintenance, the paper indicates that combination of manual sampling with on-line meter monitoring can ensure effectively the safety of water quality and the stability of pressure of pipeline network.
