This paper reported the advanced light modulator at present firstly, and then made a comprehensive analysis and comparison of there rationale, the most simple model, the most simple mathematical principle, advantages and disadvantages （Especially for whether they are suitable for large-scale integration）, current development situation （Including history, present situation and whether it has been used in industry）. To give a suggestion for a scholar or project researchers to choose light modulators.
