摘要
跨国游的兴盛为我国的旅游翻译带来了新的机遇和挑战。从跨文化交际角度来看,目前的旅游景点名称翻译中存在着一些欠缺。以天台山景区旅游手册的景点名称翻译为例,通过选取三个景点,对景点名称背后的文化内涵进行了解和深入分析,进而提出相应的可行译本,不难发现在旅游景点名称翻译中须避免滥用音译,同时应选取更为灵活有效的策略;更重要的是,译者应注意、掌握景点名称背后的文化元素与特征,并努力将其特色在译文中表现出来。
The rise of transnational travel brings with new opportunities and challenges for tourism translation in China. From the perspective of intercultural communication, some obvious deficiencies exist in current translation practice of names of scenic spots(NSSs). Through presenting case analysis of three representatives in tourist brochures of Tiantai Mountain, exploring cultural contents behind the naming of these scenic spots and providing feasible alternative translations, it is suggested that overuse of transliteration be avoided,while more flexible and effective strategies should be employed. More importantly, the translator needs to pay attention to and get a good knowledge of the cultural contents behind the names,and make efforts to represent such features in the translation.
