Confucianism Returns to Contemporary China

儒学在当代中国的回归现象,包括在政治领域,发挥儒学"德治"思想在民众生活和社会治理中的积极作用;在法律领域,新修改的《刑事诉讼法》恢复儒学"亲亲相隐"的传统;在教育领域,各地教育部门大力推广体现儒家育人思想的《弟子规》;在企业领域,儒学受到企业家的推崇,成为现代企业文化的核心精神等。儒学回归当代中国,是历史的选择。尽管其回归之路依然曲折,但时代的趋势不可阻挡。当代中国文化的发展前景是中国传统文化、西方文化和马克思主义文化的新的"三教合流";作为本土文化主干的儒学,在其中如何发挥主导的作用,有待于我们的努力。

Confucianism is now returning to China, which is reflected in many different areas. Politically, it can exert positive influ- ence of ＂rule of virtue＂ put forward by Confucius on public order and social stability. Legally, the newly-revised Criminal Procedure Law of the People＇s Republic of China restored the tradition of ＂mutual concealment of misdeeds between family members＂. Educationally, local education bureaus have launched a large-scaled promotion of Dizigui （ Disciples Regulations ）, which manifests the Confucian cultivation essence. Entrepreneurially, Confucianism is held in high esteem by entrepreneurs, and becomes the core spirit d the entrepreneurship. I believe that the return of Confucianism in contemporary China is the choice of history. The trend is unavoidable though many obstacles are still in the way. The prospect of contemporary Chinese culture is the new unification of Chinese tradi- tional culture, western culture and Marxism. Whether Confucianism, the main stem of Chinese culture, can become the leading force is largely depended on our effort.
