A Comparative Study of the English Versions of the Poems in A Dream in Red Mansions from the Perspective of Psychology of Translation

翻译心理学是研究译者的认知心理活动、审美心理活动和文化心理活动特征和规律的科学。它侧重的是一种过程研究,而不是结果层次上的研究。《红楼梦》中诗词曲赋的语义具有描述性、模糊性和多义性的特点,译者的心理活动在翻译过程中起着决定性的作用。对译者心理活动的系统研究有助于我们更好地理解和阐释不同译者的译文产生的深层次原因。因此,翻译心理学对我们的翻译对比研究,尤其是诗词翻译的对比研究,具有很强的解释力。

Psychology of translation is a process-oriented rather than product-oriented science, which studies the features and guidelines of translators＇ cognitive psychology, aesthetic psychology and cul- tural psychology. Translators＇ psychology plays a decisive role in the course o5 translation due to the {act that the poems in A Dream in Red Mansions are semantically descriptive, ambiguous and polyse- mous. Fundamentally, the systematic study o5 translators＇ psychology may help us to understand and explicate different translators＇ versions. There{ore, psychology of translation may be the framework o5 a comparative translation study, especially a comparative poem translation one.
