The performance demands of modern architectural form was analyzed, The concept and con- tent of the building HVAC system performance-based design and the association between it and con- ventional HVAC design was described,and practical cases in engineering practice was introduced,The broad application prospects of building HVAC system performance-based design was prospected. The example show that the initial investment and system operating costs were reduced, the load overlap- ping among multi-functional area in the building was eliminated, the load demand of building was accu- rately grasped and the design of the construction plan was well ~uided.
