摘要
在《红楼梦》中,曹雪芹对贾宝玉的服饰进行了生动具体的描写,向读者展现了丰富的中国服饰文化。但由于文化背景的差异,不同的译者对同一服饰有着不同的审美体验和主观审美差异。在英译贾宝玉的服饰色彩、质料、款式时,著名翻译家杨宪益、戴乃迭和英国翻译家霍克斯采用了不同的翻译方法,给读者展现了不一样的服饰美。
The vivid and concrete description about Jia Baoyu's clothes and ornaments in Hongloumeng is a demonstration of China's rich costume culture in the target-readers' eyes. However, the costume beauty revealed in Yang Xianyi' s version and David Hawkes' version is different from each other owing to their different translation of color, material and style of Jia Baoyu's costume, which is caused by the translator's different aesthetic exnerience and subjective standard of beauty.
