摘要
17世纪女作家阿芙拉.贝恩的小说《奥鲁诺可,或高贵的奴隶》讲述了非洲王子遭到英国奴隶主陷害卖至南美为奴,为寻求自由不屈抗争的故事。作品从人性图景、身体语言、荣誉意志和死亡抗争四个层次阐释理想人性,将情节的可读性与道德内涵的丰富性相结合。作为变革时代的产物,小说体现了作者对人性道德理想和现实的独立思考。
Aphra Behn's Oroonoko, or The Royal Slave states a story about an African prince who was cheated and sold to South America by the English slaveholder. The moral theme is carried out in four aspects:ideal plan of humanity; righteous body lan- guage; will of honor; fight by death. The interest of reading is naturaUy combined with plentifulness of thoughts. As a product of an age of reformation, the novel reflects the author's independent thinking about the tradition and reality of ethics and humanity.
