UP/DOWN的语义结构及汉译的认知研究

A Cognitive Study on Semantic Structures and Chinese Translation of "UP/DOWN"

从认知角度分析UP/DOWN的语义结构,分析BNC语料,了解二词各认知域语义的地位。借助研究UP/DOWN各认知域语义的相互关系,剖析二词汉译的认知域转换过程,得出汉译的规律:UP/DOWN的方位域语义以直译为主,而状态域语义则以意译为主。分析《呼啸山庄》英汉语料,验证以上规律。

From the perspective of cognition, the semantic structures of ＂UP/DOWN＂ are analyzed. By means of analyzing BNC corpus, the status of meanings in each cognitive domain is revealed. With the help of investigating interrelation among the mean- ings of all cognitive domains of ＂UP/DOWN＂, the conversion of cognitive domains during the process of Chinese translation is analyzed. A regular pattern of Chinese translation is summarized. The meanings in orientation domain of ＂UP/DOWN＂ are mainly translated with literal translation, and the meanings in state domain are mainly translated with liberal translation. By ana- lyzing the English and Chinese corpora in Wuthering Heights, the regular pattern above is verified.
