Since the 1970s, western circle of social science has gradually started a "spatial turn". Spatial sense and its construction embodied in exorcism of ghosts in Yao's rituals indicate the spatial turn of an- thropological ritual studies. This spatial turn not only provides a new paradigm for the research on rituals and space itself, but also promotes the ritual studies' transformation from traditional theoretical model of research on noumenon of rituals, functionalism and symbolism to theoretical interpretation of human it- self, spatial sense and its construction. Moreover, it pays more attention to the relationship between ritu- als and human itself, human's cognitive system and knowledge structure. For the ethnic groups in the mountainous and border areas, this spatial turn has more unique research significance.
