Selection of Entries in a Design Competition for Beijing West Railway Station Plaza

筹划已久的北京西站规划设计,近期在北京市首规委的主持下展开了“西站广场规划,站房设计方案竞赛”。经评审,北京城建设计院、天津铁三院、清华大学获二等奖(一等奖空缺);北京市建筑设计院、中国城规院、中京事务所、建设部设计院同获鼓励奖。本刊记者走访了有关部门及部分方案作者,深切感到作为全国最大的铁路客站,北京西站的建设应该是在多方案的基础上进行反复论证,集思广义,无论是车站地区的整体布局、交通系统组织还是站房形象,北京西站都应该具有划时代的意义。我们选择了一些有特色的方案,并请做了大量前期工作的北京市城市规划设计研究院做个总的介绍。期望引起更大范围的关注,促使西站方案日臻完善。

As the largest railway terminal building in the country, Beijing West Station programme should be based on extensive discussions on the many submitted designs and exchange of views so that the Beijing West Station should be endowed with epoch-making significance manifest in the integration of the general layout and urban regional context,traffic system network,as well as the architectural image of the terminal building.
