The gene encoding protective antigen(PA) of Bacillus anthracis was amplified from the attenuated strain YB1 by PCR, then cloned into pGEM-T vector and sequenced by step. The gene was 2205 bp long and encoding 735 amino acids, it has only 4 bp differenes from the PA sequence of the standard Sterne strain.
