In this paper,the great contributions of pesticides to agriculture,the position of pesticides in integrated pest management (IPM) or sustainable development strategy as well as the achievements made in decreasing negative effects of pesticides and the possibilities for further decreasing were reviewed.All these indicate that the negative effects of pesticides will no longer be the reason to limit pesticides administration and pesticides will continue to work for agriculture in 21st century.
