This paper briefly describes supply/demand trends ethyl acetate(EA) at home and abroad. On West Europe and East Asia malketplaces, EA supplies are no enough, must be import from Latin America and Japan, and must be increase capacities. The article introduces new process to prepare EA through ethylene and acetic acid addition. Compares with the process to produce EA from acetic acid and eth-anol esterification and acetaldehyde condensation. The paper clarifies that the new process is an advanced one with good economic benefit among the processes to produce EA.
